Unable to browse the network

Brand new load and connection to existing Peer to Peer WG.
Windows XP Pro on netgear router connected to ADSL, DHCP assigned addresses.

Can browse the internet.
Can ping other PC's.
Can map drive at dos.

CANNOT browse network resorces.
Other clients CANNOT ping my address.

This is a strange problem for a new load.

Has anybody experience this problem before? Is there a resolution.
Oh netbios is enabled and Browser is started.

Please help
Microsoft do not recognise this as a problem but I think this is a bug.
