Unable to add printer using Windoxs XP with Service Pack 2

Kia ora. I am having trouble adding a printer to windows xp with service
pack 2. I go to Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, Add Printer I am unable
to add printers at all. Please help.

First of all your print spooler must be running, and secondly you must be
logged on as an Administrator.

However as a third caveat, if the printer inquestion has an installation
program, you should use that rather than the Add Printer Wizard.
