Unable to access website

Sometime ago a work colleague of mine who has been blessed with extra
storage capacity provided by his ISP, thoughtfully added to his website some
of my historical research notes. The URL to his home pages is:
http://angnz.com When either clicking onto or typing that URL into my web
browser I'll go direct to his site. For my home page he's used the URL
http://crete.angnz.com which, when typed or clicked, I cannot access.
The browser comes back saying the site is not available. I am using - Zone
Alarm and the anti-virus is - AVG (both the free versions) and using
Internet Explorer 7.
What do I need to check/review or change to access this site? Thanks.

That must have been merely a hiccup on the part of the ISP server. At least
the page opened perfectly for me. It's a simple page with few pictures or
frames, so there can hardly be any problem with your browser or firewall.

I don't know what your problem is, but the site comes up just fine in my
browser.

Check ZoneAlarm's logs to see if the site is being blocked; that's about
all you mentioned that could keep you from getting in. OR, there is
something in URL valiadation at the site end most likely, that's not
allowing double-dots in a domain name, but I doubt that since one person
said they got in OK. That leaves it back at ZA for you.

Thanks, Iceman, Ray and Twayne.

This was a query from a friend of mine. I also had no problem accessing the
site and I use ZoneAlarm as my firewall (plus using IE7).

I will get him to check the ZA logs or turn off ZA and try the site. If
turning off ZA works, then I will get him to un-install and re-install ZA.

Umm, OK, but ... it will reset everything so if ZA was the problem
there will be a chance to OK it and choose to remember the setting. And
it'll have to relearn all the other OK sites, too. Call it surprise
prevention<g>.

Good luck,
