UN-installing XP Security Patches

Z

I need to know how to uninstall unwanted MS security patches. When i try
this using the Add/Remove Programs feature in Control Panel, a window pops up
with a list of 'potentially' affected programs. I need the programs, not the
patches.

If you know the KB number then you can look under the Windows directory for
the uninstall files by that number..
They are usually in blue..unless you have deleted the uninstall files

peter,
thanks for responding.
i have also used the "spuninst.exe" for the patches in question and the same
popup appears.
have you ever seen it ?
the message is: "if kb964026 is removed, the following programs might not
function properly. do you want to proceed ?" inside the popup box is the
list of programs.
why would removing a patch affect a perfectly stable non-micorsoft
application (for example: adobe air, adobe shockwave, adobe.com, zonelalrm
security suite, java, etc.)
any other suggestions or comments are welcomed ?

thanks,
~daniel~

You need to understand that a lot of other third party software can /
may / will use the common Microsoft "shared" modules. Microsoft tend
to change their modules without anyone else being advised. If your
"other" software is looking for a "revised" module but a security
patch uninstall can remove it.
