All adjectives are opinions? They are descriptions of the
characteristics of a noun. Surely you do not contemplate arguing that
people have different opinions of what constitutes a black dog? It is a
dog that is black!

Why do you feel it is necessary to shelter in anonymity?

To some it may be dark black and to others not so dark black. In the
instance that the adjective was used, it was an obvious opinion.
Why do you feel it is necessary to shelter in anonymity?

How do I know you're Gerry and not Steve Ballmer or Paris Hilton in
disguise?

And what is it about "general" that you don't understand?

To be spam, there has to be financial gain. I am making no money by
posting this so it isn't spam either.

Well, actually you're *both* wrong (on the use of the term "spam")!

It's off-topic, nothing more, nothing less.

And yes, the charter *does* apply to you! It's a *group*(/hierarchy)
charter and has nothing to do with who your NSP happens to be.

No, you are.

No, it doesn't.

I never agreed to *anything* and will post whatever the mood strikes me
to post.

Don't like it? Live with it and try to get over it.

Perhaps you should tell *what* is supposed to be so special, because I
didn't see anything (other than the rather silly windows/workspace

[1] If this audience would be impressed about *that*, they probably
would not be in *this* microsoft.* group, would they?

If Alias == Joe Luser, then you're right, but for clueful people
you're not.

Your "financial gain" argument is *never* valid, not for e-mail and
not for Usenet.

This is Usenet and that has its very clear definition of spam. Look up
BI, Breidbart Index.

No, it doesn't.

The basic idea of a response is that it in some way relates to what
you're responding to. Your 'response' miserably failed in this respect.
You may want to try again (and lookup the concept of 'straw man').

I don't use MS servers so their charter doesn't apply to me. MS is free
to censor my right to free speech and the regularly do.

Actually, if your posting service has any ethical standing at all, they
honor all charters for every group, and since this group was CREATED by
MS, they have a right to create the charter for the group.

It doesn't matter if you post on their server or not, since you seem to
not understand USENET, you are to abide by the charter for any group you
participate in.

You violated the charter for this group.
You may suggest that to those that use MS servers, not those who don't.

Now, again, what abuse?

You violate the groups charter, it's a Usenet thing which you appear to
not understand - your Usenet provider will accept the complaints and
they are bound to take action or they can have their feed terminated by
the company that provides it to them.

It is a disruptive message.
(Which yours most certainly are)

If people would just contact the ABUSE notice listed in his headers we
could be free of this OT crap and his spamming non-MS crap in these
groups.

Providers are bound to honor the charters and do not take kindly to
abuse or spamming.

You can't refute me so you try to be a Net cop and get me banned. How
pathetic can you get?

Can't say what abuse, eh? Everyone act surprised.

You can put lipstick on a pig and then, in some communities, marry the pig
and live happily ever after.

If you have to ask, you'll never know.

You're not very good at this, are you?

Every time your silly statements are challenged, you come up empty
handed, and resort to stamping of little feet, is-isnot games, ad
Hominems, and other silly stuff.

IOW, you're doing more to *hurt* Linux/Ubuntu than advocating it.
Snip drivel.

I agree I believe that windows is the better OS (and if you hate MS then
leave the MS community website) however I have a dual boot Vista- Ubuntu 9.10
ubuntu has its strength’s but it overall is not as user friendly (although
the terminal is nice and I think the command prompt should be updated), sadly
one of ubuntu’s biggest strengths is making you reinstall it maybe I would be
a little happier with ubuntu if it did not crash today and destroy my work
2 things
Gimp RULES (it is installable on both OS’s and I even after trying it in its
original OS still like it running in windows more)
cmd should be updated
In the end let’s just find common ground and talk about how we HATE OSX
