typing lag when on internet

Please, please can anyone explain why I have no problem
typing when I am in all programs except the minute I get
on the internet explorer and am on websites, the lag when
scrolling and typing are beyond belief!!! what is wrong?
I didn't seem to have any problem until I got DSL a while
back, installed MSN, hated it, had nothing but problems,
uninstalled it "per the MSN tech" and now have had nothing
but awful horrific lag time typing..and I have digital
cable internet and it is still terrible!!

what gives..I've asked many people who supposedly know
computers but they have no clue..I have internet explorer
6.0 and windows 98

Hi Paula - In IE, Tools|Internet Options|General Tab click on Accessibility
then uncheck "Format documents using my style sheet"

Hi Jim....sorry it took a while to respond..I forgot I had
sent this...lol...I unchecked it and I take it I need to
reboot to see if it works or not right?

If I have a problem, I will let you know....thank you!!
