Type Name in the To: field

I moved several people from one exchange server to the
next and everthing is fine if you select them. If I type
the name in it still has the old information in it. How
do I clear this. Thanks for your help!

in 2003, use the arrow key to select the old address and press delete.

if it also happens in 2000, find and delete the *.nick file.

Your description is unclear. When you say "if I type the name" are you
referring to autoresoltuion or autocompletion? The latter does not use your
Contacts data. It uses an autocompletion cache which you did not change.

That's autoresolution, not autocompletion.
On Outlook 2000 you need to search for the NICK file associated with the
profile and rename it.
On Outlook 2003 you need to search for the NK2 file associated with the
profile and rename it.

That's autoresolution and the name comes from the Contacts folder. If, when
you tabbed, the name wasn't unique, your Outlook Address Book would appear
to allow you to choose which contact you meant.

I did a search on my computer and couldn't find any *.nk2
files. My folder view is to show all hidden files also.

If so and if this is on Outlook 2003, then you were not using either
autocompletion or autoresolution.

What's it doing? It's like it saved the name and e-mail
address on the old server. The only way I can send to
those who moved it by clicking on TO and selecting them
out of the address book. We have so many people type the
last name then it auto resolves. An there getting a
undeliverable.

The autoresolution data is stored locally, so that is why you're having the
problem. In Outlook 2000 it was stored in a *.NICK file. In Outlook 2003 it
is stored in an *.NK2 file. Those are the files you must rename so that you
are rid of the old information.

Maida,

I have read all of the threads associated with this post. Because you have
a mixed environment of OL2000 and OL2003 there is no "pat" answer. You've
received some very good information.

We wrote a utility that will allow you to open and edit the NK2 file. This
is appropriate for your 2002 and 2003 installations only. You may not see
the NK2 file which is stored locally on each user's computer. It is a
hidden/system file so make sure that you have those advanced search
functions turned on when trying to find one. However, our utility reads
your system's registry and will load all Outlook Profiles automatically.
You may want to look at our demo product to see if it has any value to you.
