Is there a program used in Windows XP that remembers what
was typed and how do I install it.

If you mean "Autocomplete", then

In Internet Explorer - on the menu-bar
| Tools | Internet Options |
/Content\, Under "Personal Information",
[AutoComplete...] and [My Profile...]
