TXT file association

After changing my internal network addresses from
192.168.x.y to 172.16.a.b, the association to .TXT files
behaves strangely on one Win XP computer: even on a local
disk, the system returns a "network path not found" error
when double-clicking a text file. I do not have this
error with any other type of file (as far as I can tell
so far). The file can be opened without problem by right-
clicking it and then chosing "edit".

Any suggestion to fix this is welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Lou

This may work for you:

Goto: http://www.dougknox.com/
Click on Windows XP Fixes on the left hand side.
Then scroll down a little on that page and look for File
Association Fixes.
Click on that and then look for TXT file association fix.

Hopefully that should work.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I tried it and
it did not work.

Any other suggestions?
