Two problems with thumbnail view.

I have two questions, both relating to the way Explorer handles "thumbnail
view" in Windows 2000.

1. I've already set up Windows Explorer so that it views all folders using
"Details" view. The problem is, I want my image folders to display with
"Thumbnails" view instead, while keeping the original default for other
folders. Is there a way to do this?

2. When I double-click on an image file, I want it to open up in Explorer --
not Microsoft Photo Editor, as is happening now. I know how to change file
associations for .JPG, .GIF, and .PNG files, but there's a problem. Once I
designate those file types as "Internet Explorer" files, the computer refuses
to accept them as images to be displayed in Thumbnails view. Is there any way
to solve this?

Thank you very much if you can help me with this.

If nobody can answer these questions, perhaps somebody could at least
get me pointed in the right direction. Thank you.

for problem #1, make sure to allow for each folder to have different view
settings:

in Explorer:
choose menu Tools> Folder Options.
choose the View tab.
check the box for "Remember each folder's view settings."

Now, you can set your image folders to use thumbnail view.

I hope that helps a little.
