two bugs... anyone know fixes?

First;

Under message rules, when trying to get Outlook2003 to filter on people from
my contacts list, the list of people has some people missing. If I go into
the contacts lists outside of the rules wizard, these people are there. But
inside the wizard, the contacts list is missing a hadful of contacts, making
it impossible to base rules on emails they send.

Secondly, firing up Outlook Express as a news reader from the tool bar only
worked once.... I followed the instructions to add the command to the tool
bar. First click, OE loaded fine. Second click, instead of OE opening, I get
a folder full of files poping up instead. I tried resetting the toolbar and
doing the process (as per instructions in Outlooks help) and it still comes
up with the folder.

Weird huh?

Outlook 2003, Windows XP SP1 (fully patched).

Don't know the answer to your first question, but for the second -- try the
following, it seems to work for many:

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

You may need to reset the Menu Bar and/or restart Outlook and/or reboot your
machine in order to complete the process. Not everyone is reporting success
with this method, but try it and see what happens. If all else fails, you
can always create a desktop shortcut to Outlook Express and include the
/newsonly switch -- that gives you the same result as accessing the
newsreader via the News command in Outlook.

FWIW, it's often better not to ask multiple questions in one post -- folks
who can only answer one of the questions may not answer at all.
