I just downloaded and installed TweakUI v. 2.10.0.0 and checked the block in
Logon>Unread Mail>"Show Unread Mail in Welcome Screen". Unfortunnately, when my
"Welcome" screen comes up (and I do have messages!), I don't see anything but
"Welcome". Suggestions, please!

Bill

I doubt the two are related.

No need to post a picture.

When an error message like that pops up, click it to get focus, hit Ctrl + C
to copy the error message. Paste it into Notepad or a message or what ever.

This error is related to your HP printer. If it really is missing the .dll,
reinstall the HP software.

Hi Nick,

I do not know for sure that they are not related, but it seems unlikely.

You can also try reregistering the hpzjrd01.dll if you can find it on your
machine.

I have 117 hp*.dll files but not that one. I have two HP printers. ;-)

Do a Search on your machine for hpzjrd01.dll and post back with the path to
the file if you find it. Someone will tell you how to reregister it.

Path, i.e. C:\WINDOWS\system32 or C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\hp
deskjet 9600 series\Toolbox or C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\hp deskjet
assistant\bin et cetera, et cetera.

If you cannot find it, reinstall the HP software.

Rock,

Thanks for your suggestion but before I make any changes to the registry, I'm
confused about my particular settings in the ...UnreadMail section. Under
UnreadMail is a sub-folder named my e-mail account . If I right-click
UnreadMail, there are 4 "Group or user names" in the Security window:
Administrator (xxxx), Bill (xxxx), RESTRICTED, and SYSTEM. As far as this
computer is concerned, the Administrator and Bill are one and the same!

Are these 4 the "e-mail clients" that the article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304148 refers to? I
guess I'm confused about just what I'm "permitting" and what I'm "denying"!

The email clients the article refers to are the email programs you are
using such as hotmail, msn.com, comcast.net etc - whatever is in your
email address after the @ in address. The display for unread messages
will only work if the email client is either hotmail or msn.com. What
do you have?
