TV screen goes black every 15 minutes

Townie

I have an Xbox 360 set up as a media center extender for my Vista computer.
While watching TV, movies, videos etc the screen goes black while the sound
continues.
To reactivate I only need to push a button on the remote. But this is
annoying.

I have already disabled the screen saver on the system blade in the dash
board.

I can’t find a screen saver option on the media center menu.

How do I disable?

Hi Townie,

To solve your problem, click the start orb and type 'power options' into the
search box. This program should appear in the 'Programs' section of the
results panel. Click on it, and you should be at a screen headed 'Select a
power plan'. The section below this is headed 'Preferred plans', and one of
these should be selected. Under the plan that is selected, click 'Change plan
settings'. This brings up another page headed 'Change settings for the
plan:...'. One of the items on this page is 'Turn off the display:'. Since
you say that your display goes black every 15 minutes, I assume that this is
the setting here. To change it, simply select the required option fom the
drop down box, in your case I suggest 'Never'. Click 'Save changes' and then
close all open dialogue boxes.
