Turning off the low disk space message?

How can I turn off the low disk space message? I tried the registry
modification mentioned on
http://windows.about.com/library/tips/bltip600.htm but I still get the
low disk space messages.

Is there any way I can be sure I did it correctly? Is there another way
to turn off these messages? Thank you in advance for all replies.
