Turning off the computer

When I turn off my computer (Compaq Evo N800v), the program WDS_SL does not
close automatically and I am always forced to close it manually. How can I
solve this malfunction? I have Windows XP SP2 Professional. Thanks in advance
for any help on this abnormal situation.

That has to do with your wireless card. See if there are updated drivers on
the manufacturers website.

I have no wireless card. Any other ideas?

Something to try,

Create a shutdown Icon on your desktop with the following:

Right click on the desktop, select new, shortcut,
Type - shutdown.exe -s -t 00 and click next and finish.

Right click the Icon, properties, and select change Icon and browse to find
the correct Icon for shut down.

I uninstalled Windows Desktop Search and the computer turns off without
problems. I will now install WDS version 3 and will report results. Thank you
for your excellent help.
 
I installed Windows Desktop Search version 3 and the computer continues to
turn off without problems. Again, thank you for your excellent recommendation.
