I know how to mute sounds permanantly until i unmute them. How do I mute the
sounds when I turn my computer on and off, regardless of what the other sound
options are? I know what I mean but I'm not sure if I'm saying it right.
Thanks for any help

Do you mean the logon/logoff sounds?? CtrlPanel->Sounds.....

Yes but once I get there I don't see how to turn on and off. The 2 items
themslves aren't clickable but when i click browse it shows a lot of files,
not sure what to do, thanks for any help

those are your sound choices, select none to have no sound for the events you
want quiet, or mute all sounds at the volume control if it's on your task
bar, if it isn't go to control panel sounds and put it there

In the "Sounds" (Control Panel) options, choose "no sound" for those events.
