"turning off" IE

I am running XP Home edition. I also have Norton System
Works 2004. Norton won't let me run a couple of its
applications without "turning-off" my "browser" which, I
assume is IE 6. Anybody know how to "turn off" IE 6 to
the point where Norton doesn't think the browser is on?

maybe setting other default browser... try installing another and making it
default.
