Turning Off Alt Text for Nav Buttons and Bullets

Does anyone know of a way to turn off Alt="text" from
automatically appearing in the script for Nav Buttons and
Active Graphic Bullets.

These Alt Text entries tend to play havoc with the Key
Word counts in the Alt Area when analyized for optimum
ratios.

Any hints would be great.
