turn off markup view

I accepted all changes in a document using the Review - Accept - Accept All
Changes in Document. why were the comments left? do they have to be
individually deleted to really make the document "clean?" I also used the
document inspector and they are still there. what's with that?

Yes, comments must be deleted separately: On the Review tab, in the Comments
group, click Delete, and then click Delete All Comments in Document.
