Turn Chinese Windows 2k Pro to English Windows 2k Pro

I need to turn the Chinese Windows 2k Pro to English one. Can someone
advise me the simplest way to do so except formatting the hard disk since
the data and os are on the same disk.

Thanks,

Ray

just an idea, not tested... install english version to a new directory, this
'should' create a new boot entry that you could select on startup. i think
you would still have to reinstall applications, but it should leave all the
data intact.

There is no way to do this except with the MUI Version (Multilanguage User
Interface) of Windows. If you have installed the Chinese Version you can't
change the language. You have to reinstall the PC. In MUI you have to
install english as a "base-OS" and then the needed language packs. Hotfixes
and Service Packs are also to install in english.

Dave,

I do not want to keep two OSs on a pc. How to remove the Chinese OS after I
have successfully install an English OS.

Thanks,

Ray

Dave and Peter gave good answers but another one is to install another hard disk, install English on it, copy the data over from the other disk and then remove the unneeded disk. It will require installing all apps but then they'll have to be English anyway, so a rebuild is not a bad idea.

Trying to convert would not be worth the effort.
