tsweb vs. terminal services

Chris

I have been trying to connect remotely from an XP pro
machine to another XP pro machine. I have setup IIS on
the host XP pro machine and changed the port number. I
have opened the ports on the firewall. I am unable to
connect remotely but can connect on the internal lan
using tsweb and the new port number. Now IIS uses a
different port number than the terminal services. Am I
right in saying that the tsweb uses IIS while terminal
services uses the Remote Desktop Connection? Thus, there
are two different ways to connect remotely?

If you use the web client, Remote Desktop requires both IIS and RD
(and TCP Ports 80 and 3389) and the two ports both must be forwarded
appropriately.
