TS Disconnects with "Because of a protocol error" message

Fred

In recent weeks, I cannot stay connected to my Terminal Server. I can
connect fine, but I am kicked off every few minutes. It disconnects me with
the error: "Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected.
Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

My Server is Windows 2000 Server, and I am just running the Remote
Administration Terminal Server. I do not know for certain if this is
applicable, but the problem began about the time I upgraded the server to
Win2K SP4. The problem seems to be independent of the client or where I
connect from. The clients include the Windows XP SP1 Remote Desktop
Connection and the 2003 version downloaded for a Windows 2000 Professional
PC. The disconnect happens both on the internal LAN, and when connecting via
the internet via a router.

The problem is similar to that described in Q824683, but for Windows CE
only.Sometimes I can stay connected for 10 or more minutes, sometimes I'm
disconnected as soon as I reconnect. The disconnect happens more often when
moving the mouse.

Thanks in advance for any help.
