Trying to Use My JVC Compact

When I try to use Movie Maker 2 I keep getting the
following message: "Being used by another person or
program. Close any programs that might be using the file
and try again." What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

and if it is digital are you using firewire?
 
No Firewire--have an ATI Multimedia card. Could this be
my problem; NO firewire?

Yes, digital camcorders like firewire.

If you want to use composite/S-Video, you should use the ATI MultiMedia
Centre software to capture but the resolution will be lower than if you use
firewire.

Firewire. One of the nicest/friendly Newsgroups I have
