I am trying to upgrade my S325 from XP home to XP Pro. I am trying to
do a clean install. Everytime I try to install from the CD I get to
the "Set up is starting Windows" and the computer just stops
responding. I have tried the info contained in the following KB
article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321645&Product=winxp
but I am still have the same problem. The version of XP is not SP 1 or
2 but as stated above, I am trying to do a clean install. Any help
would be great

All you need to do is make a SP2 slipstreamed version of your
current Windows XP Pro and then Clean Install using the new CD.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)

Have you set the BIOS for booting to xp cd (1st boot device) or similiar..
Slipstreaming SP2 into a cd isnt going to help...
