"You specified identical destination filenames for some of the files you are
trying to copy. Make sure all destination files have unique names and try
again."

What does this mean to me and are there any quick ways around this.

Watch what you name files.... index.htm, Index.htm , bigdaddy.jpg, Bigdaddy.jpg...for sanity's sake stick to lowercase file names with no spaces, or illegal characters.

Copy? What are you trying to do?

What I'm trying to do is a save the site on my local disc. Just giving FP a
run, trying features I normally don;t use.

What are illegal characters?

You'll not be 'copying' anything.

If your working locally to design your Web all you have to do is Save it.
Make sure you are creating a WEB and not just pages. When y ou save a Web the folder will appear with a globe on it - and FP will create any necessary folders the Web needs to operate.

If you were designing 'live' on your host server, you should Publish it down to your local machine...not copy or import.

Illegal characters? some: / ? < > \ : * | "
don't use them. Also avoid spaces in file names, extra dots (.),
you CAN use underscores _

Well, I used the "remote web site" feature to publish from the server to my
local and received that message. I use the word "copy" in leau of
"publish", in damzish world it means the same thing.
