Trying to restore windows to default setting

Is there an easy way to reset WindowsXP to the default way it arrived to the
consumer? I am trying to get rid of everything on the computer except for the
OS. I can not for the life of me get this to work. Any advice?

Hi,

Unless you still have a restore point from then, no. You would have to do a
clean install to a new folder.

Since you didn't tell us anything about your computer, I can only give you a
general answer.

1. If this is an OEM machine (Dell, Sony, HP, etc.) refer to the computer
manual or the OEM's website for your specific model computer to see how to
restore it to factory condition. If you can't find anything, you can always
call tech support.

2. If this is a generic/home-built machine where you installed XP yourself,
do a clean install:
