All the other dc's in our enviorement are 2000, and i am
trying to add a 2003 domain controller that will be
shipped to a different site. Our structure is as
follows. Two root domain controlers. Three child domain
controlers in a single site. and a child domain controler
not of the same domain but under the two root. I ran
the /forest prep on the schema master disconnected from
the network. Then i ran the /domainprep with that box
disconnected from the domain (shoud it be connected? in
article 278875 it says it should be and she schema master
should be disconnected so i am not sure) however when i
try to add the new 2003 box i get the message:

The operation failed because:

This active directory installation requires domain
configuration chages. Run the adprep /domainprep command
on domain controller (null) to make these changes and
then proceed with the Active Directory installation.

The server is unwilling to process the request.

Any help would be greatly apreciated

Did you run adprep /domainprep on the infrastructure master?
If the Schema master is a different conputer from the infrasturucture master
you must connect the schema master back to the network so the schema changes
can be replicated to the infrastructure master before you can run adprep
/domainprep.
