Try again: Scheduled task but no password

I'm the only user on this XP Pro system. So my login ID has no password.

I created a scheduled task, and in the password prompt, I put nothing since
I have no password. But that generated an error (0x80070005: Access is
denied).

So is it possible to use scheduled tasks with null as the password? Or do I
have to go through the bother of setting myself a password, which would be
required each time I use the system!?

Thanks!

Hi,

Even though you have no password for your login, you should have a password
for the Administrator account. If not, setup a password on the built in
Administrator account and use that for the login and password for your
scheduled task. Also, its not safe to not use a password, you can setup the
computer to automatically log you on with a password if don`t want to type
in a password each time you start your computer. Plus you really should at
least set a password for the built in administrator account.

It does require a password on the account for scheduled tasks in the
system default, however there is a way to run without setting a
password. Go to Kelly's site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

Click on "S" and scroll down to Scheduled Tasks - Applying/Running tasks
without a password.
