Troubleshooting "svchost exe Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)"?

I have been getting an error on startup, stating that "Svchost.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You need to restart
the program." Dr Watson log says, yeah, it was svchost.exe that caused
the access violation and provides dump details, but I don't know how
to identify the program that calls svchost and triggers the error so I
can disable or re-install it, Viz:

Using Mike Lin's Startup Control, I turned off all starup items and
rebooted but I still get the message. When I look at Startup Control
enties again, I see that the HKLM run keys for Synchronization
Manager's "mobsync.exe /logon" and Kaspersky's "avp.exe" had been
rechecked by something. I'm sure I had unchecked them. I guess I could
uninstall Access Manager and Kaspersky but hope there's a simpler way.

Anyway, any suggestions on how to get to the root of the problem?

Larry
