this can happen (not always) when the server is hacked and the hacker tries
to hide systray icons such as vnc from view but ends up hiding the desktop
instead try crtl alt del task manager new task and type cmd for command
prompt as a good starting point. from there search for hidden.exe and other
folders/files that look out of place to you (you may have to "un-hide" some
of the files as they tend to hide them as well also try new task regedit from
task mgr and search for ORL key and VNC (remote control software) entries.
