troubleshoot fill in field

have fill in field set in a word template that is repeating itself. when i
go to create a new doc:

1 - grey background, prompt for fill field 1 comes up, then prompt for fill
field 2
2 - (view 'refreshes')
3 - white background shows, then prompt 1 comes up, then prompt 2.... again...

there are only the two fields, no bookmarks, no switches. i had switches in
there, both the 'default' and the 'one time', and tried deleting the one, and
then the other, then both, with no change. still prompts for field 1 then
field 2 twice.

Is either field nested inside another? Where in the document are the fields located (body, header, footer, textbox, etc)?

Hi Macropod,

As far as I can tell, there are no nested fields. I have toggled codes and
see nothing that would indicate that. Field 1 is in the header, and field 2
is in the footer.

Is that why?
