troubles with installing new fonts

I copied some fonts (which are working perfectly on another
XP system) into my root\Windows\Fonts directory but it
seems that on my XP system they are not being installed at
all! On the Other PC I get a popup-window that shows me the
the font installation progress when I add some fonts in the
font dir. Have you any idea of what my problem could be?

Open the fonts folder, choose: file, install new font. Browse to where font
is stored on your drive, choose it, it will install.

just try adding your fonts to the fonts folder in control
panel. see if that works

Do it rather by going to Windows\Fonts and in File - Install Font browse
to the folder where they are, select , and check 'Copy to Fonts folder.

If that is not in the File menu then it is likely that the folder has
lost its System attribute; go to Command Prompt and give
ATTRIB +S %Systemroot%\Fonts
