can someone please help;
I would like to delete an item from my computer yet I
don't know how

Open the program and look through the menus for its Preferences or Options.
You should find a way to prevent the program from running at startup.

If that doesn't work, go to Start > All Programs > Startup. If you see a
shortcut to the program, delete it.

If that doesn't work, uninstall the program.

the program is not in the list where you would add or
remove programs, niether is it at all programs>then start
up

What is the name of the program?

If you don't know the name of the program, what is its entry in the Startup
tab of the System Configuration Utlity? (List the entire entry.)

the name of the program is called spystopper a trial
version I got off a CD rom through the purchase of a PC
world magzine,
I deleted it from my documents where I had it saved and
deleted all files I thought were connected to it in syst
32 yet the thing still remains in my start up list
