Trouble with Security Update installing over and over and over....

Last night some updates downloaded - they installed this morning when we came
in to work. Except we keep getting prompted to install another update - and
it is Security update for MS .NET Framework Service Pack (KB928366) - intall
completes without errors, and then the little yellow shield appears below
right prompting us to install the update again. anyone else having this
trouble? I love it when Microsoft updates mean I have to pay my IT guys for
5 hours - NOT! And would like to avoid calling them if possible.

How's your problem?

I have the same problem. The same update shows up everytime I turn on the
computer about the same time you posted the message. The installation appears
successful since there is no error message or anything unusual, as far as the
computer performance is concerned. Just puzzled.

Can it be some kind of malware?

Mine's all better - I copied the steps here for you to use -- they worked:

Step 1: Download Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility
============================================
1. Visit:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/9/D/E9D80355-7AB4-45B8-80E8-983A48D5E1BD/msicuu2.exe
2. Save the file to your Desktop
3. Please double click the file msicuu2.exe on the Desktop to install this
tool on your computer.



Step 2: Remove .NET Framework 1.1
========================
1. Click Start -> (All) Programs->Windows Installer Clean Up.
2. See if you can find .NET Framework software. If so, remove it.
3. Restart the computer and see if the issue still exists.

However, if any problem is encountered when trying to uninstall .NET
Framework 1.1, we can also refer to the following Knowledge Base article to

suggestions to reinstall .NET Framework 1.1 and the updates for it.

Package and the updates from the following link and save them to the C drive
