Trouble with publishing

I have a website that I have previously published and I have the same problem
everytime I try to publish it:

The web is open and saved, I click "Publish Web" and enter the destination.
I immediately get an error message. The problem is that it is not asking me
for my username and password to my internet server. How do I get that step
in the process back. Everytime Ihave successfully published I have just
tried about a hundred times until that box comes up. Help please.

What is the error message?
Are you entering the URL as http://www.yoursitename.com/

I have the very same problem, but I don't get an error message. I am using XP
without sp2 installed. Could the extensions be messed up on the host server?

I am having the very same problem. I don't get the login box, but I don't
get an error message either. Everything seems to take place properly, but
when I go to the website none of the changes show? Is this a problemwith XP.
I don't have sp2 loaded or are the extensions messed up on the host server?

Error message I am receiving:

“Unable to open http://princess-and-rockstar.com. Possible causes:

1. The Web Server may not have the Frontpage server extensions installed.
2. The web server may be temporarily out of service.
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be
incorrect.
4. An error may have occurred in the web server.â€

I have tried:
-reseting Frontpage options, then reenabling Frontpage through Yahoo, my
provider
-diabling the internet firewall on my computer
-changing name of index page from index.htm to index.html
-creating an entirely new web with only a simple index.htm page

I have contacted Yahoo and at the times of attempts, the server has
Frontpage extensions installed and had no interruptions in service.

I am also running XP without SP2, maybe I will try to install that and then
report back.

Thanks to everyone for helping me. I have a couple FrontPage help books but
I can’t find a solution in them either.

I ended up just copying and pasting the changed pages from my computer to the
host server and that worked.

I have found that the Publish to Web section of Frontpage 2003 doesn't
work at all. I use CuteFTP; it works perfectly and gives you a good
overview of "what is where," especially important if your local
computer file organization is different from that on the server.

How doesn't it work?

Your web file organization on both the server and your HD should be nearly
identical if you have created the web in FP.
Using a host with the FPSE installed will give you easy access and
publishing is duck soup.
Appears you or your host have not set up the SE.

Thanks everyone for ideas and help. I ended up trying FTP and worked on the
first try.

Kinda sounds like your not creating FP Web Site on your local machine.
