trouble with fixmbr

I tried to install mandrake linux because I thought it ran from a cd, but i
installed LILO (linux loader) and whenever my computer starts, it boots the
LILO screen. I tried to run fixmbr from the windows recovery console to
destroy the LILO, but when i rebooted, the screen says ERROR LOADING
OPERATING SYSTEM. So, have had to reinstall LILO to get back into windows.
Could someone point me in the right direction here? I am a total linux
newbie, and I don't know how to get rid of the lilo screen. I can't
reinstall windows, because we don't have the CD because it was factory
installed. Please Help!!!!!!!

The command prompt says that "lilo is not a valid command" or something like
that. Do I do that from Mandrake's Konsole or try again?
