"NTLDR is missing"

Hello.
I had a machine with two Windows partitions on. On C: there was a
System, and additional D: drive.

Once day we installed Mandrake Linux 10 on this second (d:) drive and in
the end we have:
/dev/hda1 - NTFS Windows
/dev/hda5 - Linux
/dev/hda6 - Swap

The problem is that lilo boots Linux properly while it does not boot
Windows. Trying to boot windows ends with "NTLDR is missing".

I checked google for this and found two solutions. First was that there
might be bad entries for Windows in lilo.conf - checked that. No, it's
all set on /dev/hda and /dev/hda1.
Second was that i should run Windows XP from CD, get into rescue console
and type fixmbr and fixboot.
After second step, lilo was gone, but running machine resulted in
"Operation system is lack" - or some similar screen (sorry, not sure if
this was exactly in these words). I also tried to full FIX the Windows
from installation CD but this did not changed anything.
Now i'm back with lilo, i can run linux, but Windows still results in
NTLDR is missing.

I'm not Windows meaven so i need help here. I have to be able to run
this windows instance because other person in my company have its work
on this drive.

Please, help.

Hi

Try this:

Boot with your XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'.
When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes. Where X is the letter ofyour
CD drive and C is the letter of your system drive. Take the XP CD out
of the cd drive and reboot into XP normally.
