Most welcome, Larry. Is this a Dell per chance? If so:

On a Dell system it will look like this: Start/Run/Regedit

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]

"CLSID"="{13709620-C279-11CE-A49E-444553540000}"
"method"="ShellExecute"
"Command"="Dell Solution Center"
"Param1"="c:\\Program Files\\Dell\\SolutionCenter\\DellSC.exe"

To return to XP Default, delete the Param1 line and modify the rest to
match:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f1-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]

"CLSID"="{13709620-C279-11CE-A49E-444553540000}"
"method"="Help"
"command"="@shell32.dll,-12709"

Once done hit refresh, then Help and Support.

to start with i want to thank you for reply , and let
you know that if this old man is taking up to much of
your time , just let me know and i want bother you.

i do not have a dell , had this old thing built a
couple three years ago ( old pent. 111). below is what i
see when i get to where you said to go:

NAME TYPE DATA
(Default) Reg_SZ (Value not set)

CLSID Reg_SZ {13709620-C279-11C
E-A49E-4445535400
00}

Method Reg-SZ ShellExecute

dont see command= line , is it the method line?

ok , when i am going to change (say method to help)do i
highlight method than use modify to change or do i use
new string?.

well like i said kelly let me know if you have the time
to help on this anymore. i just put this xp in here a
couple of days ago , maybe i could reinstall it.

thanks
larry

Hi Larry,

You are very welcome and you aren't bothering me. :o) Your issue is
interesting. Do me a favor and export that key and send it me via email.
In the meantime, just double click method and modify. Do not add another
string value.

There are many other areas to consider, here are some:

Why doesn't Help and Support work?

I haven't given up, Larry but you are making this rather difficult posting
via CDO, as I don't have your email address either. Simply, double click
"from" and copy and paste my email address into a new mail message.

Most welcome, Larry. Is this a Dell per chance? If so:

On a Dell system it will look like this:
Start/Run/Regedit

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-
00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]

"CLSID"="{13709620-C279-11CE-A49E-444553540000}"
"method"="ShellExecute"
"Command"="Dell Solution Center"
"Param1"="c:\\Program
Files\\Dell\\SolutionCenter\\DellSC.exe"

To return to XP Default, delete the Param1 line and
modify the rest to
match:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f1-21d7-11d4-bdaf-
00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]

"CLSID"="{13709620-C279-11CE-A49E-444553540000}"
"method"="Help"
"command"="@shell32.dll,-12709"

Once done hit refresh, then Help and Support.

Hi Larry,

Are you speaking of Help and Support? Or any
troubleshooter via the Device
Manager, etc?
