trouble sending

Ken W

The past few months when I send or receive mail it is not
able to send, although receive usually works much better
(although occasionally it doesn't work), and I get the
following error: "the TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly
terminated by the server". When I shut my antivirus and
firewall software down it didn't make any difference. I
can't tie it to any one thing. It makes it frustrating
because it's so sporadic. The first couple of times it
may not work, and then it goes. Sometimes it hasn't
worked for a whole day. Any ideas?

What version of Outlook are we talking about here? Resetted your
modem/router already? Have you recreated your mail profile already in
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...

Does it still happen when you completely disable/remove the integration of
your virusscanner with Outlook?

I don't know how to completely disable/remove the
integration of my virusscanner with Outlook. How do I do
it? (fyi-I use McAfee's VirusScan)

Don't know, I don't use McAfee. It should be in their documentation though.
