trouble saveing jpegs

hello

i have a friend who has xp and she's haveing troubles
saveing .jpegs file, they keep changein to .bmps
what does she need to do to fix it ? any one know?
she uses several programs.
pgp, paint,photoshop. and none will save as a jpeg. only
bmps.
and when she adds.jpg to the file it want view..

another friend has the same problem with backgrounds and
themes in mellinium.

i my self use 98se so i have no clue, and i have read
through every help article there is (how-to's) on both
mellinium and xp and cant find any thing that would help.

i'de appreciate the help, its for some really nice friends
who are computer illiterate.


mellinium wantsto change her background.
xp wants to be able to save jpegs.
