Trouble removing a program

We had Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe on our computer. The disk has to be in
to play and the kids scratched it to where it wouldn't read. I got a new
disk and put it in. It said that I had to remove the old program.
Apparently I didn't remove it right. It doesn't show up when I do a search
of all files including hidden ones but still shows on my add/remove program
screen. When I click to remove it the message Install Shield (R) Setup
Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. It will let me remove any other program except this one. The
new disk will not play until it is installed but won't let me install it
until I uninstall the old one which only shows up in my add/remove programs.

Try the following in normal mode, if you're not successful, try in Safe
Mode, that may do it. To logon in Safe Mode press F8 a few
times (at about 2 sec intervals) at startup and once loged on:

Go to Start\Run\and type;"msconfig" (w/o quotation marks) and press
Enter\go to Start tab, and check
if the program is enabled there and remove the check mark to disable. Next
go to the registry; Start\Run\type; regedit and enter, and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run AND
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
delete the program's value. also delete the Program's Key in HKLM and
HKCU\Software\look for a key from the Program developer or program ID and
delete the complete key (folder) from the registry... delete from both the
Local Machine and Current User keys.
Next go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Rolle
r Coaster Tycoon Deluxe and delete the key. Now try Add/Remove programs in
the control panel, if successfull restart the computer and reinstall the
program.
