Trouble opening Access Database

After having virus/worm issues and cleaning all that up, my Access program is
not working correctly. For some reason, when I click on a database to open
it, the program opens, but the database does not. I have to click on "File"
in the program and find the database again, click on that to open. This
would not be so bad, but since I often work in a network, it takes twice as
long to find and open databases on others' computers. I'm sure this is
probably an easy fix - I'm just missing something, but I don't know what.
I've tried repairing Office from the disks, but that did not solve this
problem.

That is strange....

If you are using a shortcut, try recreating it.

Not using a shortcut, just going to the file in the folder. It used to be
that I could click directly on the file and have it open. Now, I have to
click on it, the program opens (NOT the file/worksheet), then I have to click
"File", "Open", and find the file again, click on it to open it. What a
hassle!

It is odd that the database doesn't open and you don't get an error.
Windows is responsible for telling the program (Access) which file it's
supposed to open. So the problem is either that Access isn't getting
the message, or that it's failing to open the database.

I suggest creating a shortcut that makes this explicit. The target
would be:
<path to msaccess.mde> <path to database>

Both paths should be inclosed in "double quotes".

Well, heck, my bad! I meant to post this in the Excel forum. I'm so sorry.
Thanks for the help, though. I'm off to the correct forum. (and to get a

Have you tried recreating a shortcut by right clicking on the filename and
dragging it somewhere, and selecting "Create shortcut here"?
