Trouble installing XP Pro

I have been trying to install XP Pro on a new computer with no luck. I keep
getting various files not found or corupt. I am trying to load an older xp
Pro without sp1 or sp2 on a machine with an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU. Do I
need to get a copy of XPO with the embedded SP's? I just ordered XP Pro 64
bit, will it work? Any ideas? Please help.

Is the XP CD a retail, Oem, upgrade version? If the CD is legitimate you
can add SP2 after install. XP Pro 64 should work Ok.

The CD is a legal OEM version. I would install SP2 if I could get to the
point I was able too. It works 1 time usually but shows a corrupted or
missing file when required reboots take place.
