Trouble installing monitor drivers

I am trying to install new Monitor drivers. In Control Panel I went to
Display>Settings>Advanced>Monitor>Properties. Under monitor type it simply
says "default monitor" and the properties box is faded out/inactive so I
can't open it to change the drivers.

How can I open the properties box so I can install the new drivers???

Rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Monitor>rt
click and select update driver.
