Trouble Importing .pst

I am trying to import a backed up pst file into Outlook (O/L 2000). I keep
getting a message "Properties for this information service must be defined
prior to use".
The next message says "errors have been detected in the file D:\....pst.
Quit all mail-enabled applications and run Inbox Repair Tool".

Any suggestions? I kind of need the backed up data.

Try File, Open on the menu instead of Import. It will appear at the end of
the Folder List in Folder View. If the file is damaged run scanpst.exe on it.
Look it up in Help for exact directions.
