How much RAM do you have installed, and how much is free memory after a
succesful boot? If you only have 256 MB of RAM on there, that is my suspicion.

Hey guys thanks for your replys :) Im thinking the problem is more
software related but i could be wrong.. I have 704meg of ram and
after i get into wndows 33% of it gets used up.. Does this help?
Going to give Asus a call today and see what they say. Wrote a email
to them in their trouble shoot web page but they only came back
with:

"Could you please first make sure that your laptop do not have
the problem with some kinds of virus? Use some virus killer software
to kill the virus. If no virus attacking, please update your BIOS to
the newest version for a try. If problem still persists, could you
please contact our local service center! in New Zealand for a
detailed check? Our engineers there will help you deal with it.Wish
you good luck and have a nice day."

Checked all these out including Bios and everything is fine..

The virus software may be a valid problem. I would uninstall it and see
how. If nothing improves, return.

Thanks Steve for your reply. My laptop is free of viruses and i
un-installed the anti-virus prog but i still have the same prob. Did
a little testing tho... Disabled the wireless but still had problem.
Just trying the IEEE and so far so good. Im using my Laptop for
Djin. Im using the Final Scratch Hub to control my MP3s on my laptop
with my turntables. (this is connected through the IEEE. Occasional
i get to a gig and it wont boot because of the problem im trying to
solve. Lucky after the 6 or 7 atemp i get lucky!!
