Dave

Ever since I did my last Windows update, I have to load my browser
(either MSIE or Firefox) at least twice before I can get access to
either the internet or Email. I can't access Email until I've
achieved an internet connection VIA a browser, it doesn't work to try
to load my Email program (Eudora) multiple times.

Windows XP Pro SP2

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check in at Windows Update again and see if there's anything new for you.

Do you have a Norton, McAfee or Avast application installed?

What type of internet connection do you have?

Thanks.

I have Cox Cable. Tried a new modem and no change. Also have tried
disabling Norton AV and ZoneAlarm and no change.

I got the latest updates and no change. I have Norton AV and
ZoneAlarm and have tried disabling them but that makes no difference.

With NAV disabled throughout, uninstall the updates via Add/Remove Programs,
one-by-one & rebooting inbetween, until you've uninstalled the one causing
the problem. (At the Windows Update page you will find a link in the left
pane to show updates history.)

Then, with NAV still disabled, reinstall it to see if the presence of NAV
during the original install caused the problem. If still no joy, uninstall
it again and hold tight. Chances are MS knows the update's caused problems
for some users and will be re-releasing it soon. Help everyone out by
posting back to this thread, stating the problem update you found.
