Internet connection problems

After installing Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional on my new Win Xp
Pro machine, I am having internet connection problems.

Before I installed VS .NET, I had none of these problems.

I am using Mozilla Firefox 1.06, and my home page is
"http://www.google.com/". I am also using MS Office 2003, and Outlook
2003 for email. I have a cable modem for my internet connection.

I make sure all my system tray icons have loaded before I do these
steps.

When I first boot my computer, and I try to start Firefox, Firefox
cannot the google.com page. I have a toolbar button for Google New,
"http://news.google.com/", and when I click on it, sometimes google
news will be found. I can then click on my Home Page button and
Firefox will find the google.com page.

If I first start Outlook, outlook will always send emails, but
sometimes the receive will not work. If receive is not working,
sometimes clicking one the Send/Receive button again will get it to
work.

The main problem is after after several hours of no internet traffic, I
loose my internet connection. Internet browsers stop finding web pages
(Firefox and IE), and sometimes Outlook cannot receive email. Even
when Outlook can send/receive, Internet browsers will stop finding web
pages. The go to "Google news" fix does not work. How can my Internet
browsers stop working when Outlook can still send/receive? How come
this only happens when I have no traffic for an hour or more?

Please help me.

Thanks

You may have some spyware, virus or other setting that has screwed up the IP
protocol stack. Run an up to date virus check and check for spywares with:

AD Aware SE
Spybot: Search and Destroy 1.4
CWShredder
Microsoft AntiSpyware

Once your system is clean of viruses/spywares, run "Winsockxpfix.exe" to
completely reset the UCP/IP protocol stack to MS defaults.

Already done. I ran SpyBot Search and Destroy ver 1.4, AdAware SE
Personal Build 1.06r1, and Avast! ver 4.6 Home Edition. My computer
comes up clean, but I still have the problems. All the problems
started after I installed Visual Studio 2003.
