I tried to enable the firewall in the Windows XP
software, but was unable to do so. I have a Dell laptop
and have modem internet access.
These are the steps I took, as directed by Windows Help:
I went to Control Panel and chose Network connections.
I clicked on the icon for the dial-up and then went to
Network Tasks and clicked on "Change settings of this
connection." Nothing happens.
When I clicked on the LAN or Hi-speed Internet icon
(Note: I do not have either type of connection, but was
just experimenting to see if this would work), I could
then click on "Change settings of this connection" and it
would bring up the Local Area Connection property box.
Could someone please tell me why I cannot do this for the
dial-up connection?
