XP Internet Firewall

Tom

I try to activate the WindowsXP Internet Connection
Firewall as follows--Start--Control Panel--Internet
Connections--Click Dial-Up Icon---In task pane, on the
left under Network Tasks, click Change settings to this
connection. Absolutely nothing happens. Also, I right
click on the Dial-Up Icon, and then click Properties, and
still nothing. Am using AOL as an ISP. Called them, and
the referred me to Microsoft. My Dial-up Icon
shows:America On Line, next line is the word,
Disconnected, (greyed out), next line is, BCMV.92 56K
Modem, also greyed out. I got this computer in July from
Dell, with Windows XP installed. It's a Dell Dimension
4600. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Assuming you have AOL, you'll need to install a third-party firewall.
America Online installs its own connection settings that override
the ones that come with Windows XP. America Online's
connection settings don't include a way to turn on Windows XP's
built-in firewall.

Visit the following web site for instructions on downloading
a FREE firewall program for your computer.
